Lafayette i12-600S.START Inverters are devices that convert a direct current voltage coming from a 12/24 battery into an "alternating" voltage with a square waveform or a modified sine wave. |
If a purely resistive load is connected to an inverter , i.e. incandescent lamps, electric stoves, etc., the only factor to keep under control is the power in W or VA that the inverter is able to generate at full capacity. In the event of an overload, the inverter automatically switches itself off and enters protection mode. Thanks to the new Soft-Start technology used by the latest generation of inverters, the internal circuit of the inverter checks the load connected to it before supplying output voltage, and only if the required power and the type of load are adequate is the 220V AC output enabled. This control operation takes about 10 seconds, after which the output voltage is increased according to a ramp graph from 0V to 220V in a rapid manner, in this way current inrushes that could cause damage to the inverter and electrical disturbances on the line are avoided. Soft-Start technology is essential when used with inductive loads (refrigerators, electric tools or electric motors in general) which require a high current at start-up. |
